However, I was looking on the walmart site and noticed this new and very small external modem called the Startech V.92 56K fax/dailup modem that supports windows 10. Now I'm forced to use my old computer which is very slow and outdated. Because I've got this new computer, yet I cannot use it. Use the Robotics modem on my new ENVY, but to find that windows 10 in my new system would not except the drives from the Robotics Installation CD.
Hiro h50006 modem 64 Bit#
It worked just fine, until I purchased my new 64 bit ENVY Desktop from Bustbuy recently.
I used a Robbotics V.97 dailup modem with windows xp in a 32 bit desktop computer I've had for over 10 years. With a Windows 7 32-bit PC, I am always able to succeed when dialing up with this modem, so the hardware is fine.ĭoes anyone have any idea what the problem might be, and a fix for it? There are so few dial-up modems to try, and the friend who has bought this PC has ONLY dial-up as a connection option. Them modem logs and every other conceivable piece of information that I can. Hiro has been most unhelpful in solving this problem, and I have sent Hiro claims in LARGE LETTERS on their homepage that their modem is compatible with Windows 10, but their documented testing is very limited and does not include Earthlink. The modem is always connected to a USB 2.0 port. This happens on multiple Earthlink dial-up numbers. The Hiro modem is trying to connect to Earthlink via their EAS software, but after several tries the call hangs up and EAS claims "no answer", even though Earthlink *did* answer - the communications protocols just did not complete successfully.
Windows 10 was installed by Acer, it is NOT an upgrade I purchased a Hiro H50113 dial-up modem to use with this PC, which is running Windows 10 64-bit. I have a brand new Acer ES1-512-C1PW laptop.
